We had a poor experience at La Perla. Although the server did do his best to help give menu recommendations, and was attentive to serve water and bring warm bread, the food was awful. I went with my parents and all 3 of us were less than impressed. I took a bite or two of my meal and didn’t touch the rest. The server unfortunately didn’t seem to care. We paid $184 for our meal and I left hungry, and quite frankly grossed out. I can’t imagine anyone finding the photo below looks appetizing.

Interesting experience I had at Ristorante LA Perla. The occasion was for my birthday. First glance at the menu, and you're stumped as wjat to order because the choices are very particular. After taking a minute to figure out what we wanted, I ordered their Papadelle seafood pasta dish. When it came out, I was initially disappointed because of the PORTION that was served. The FOOD was delicious 😋 which made the PORTION issue more pronounced. I asked my waiter if I could speak with the manager, who in turn introduced me to the proprietor, who is also the chef. Let me tell you, after speaking with the proprietor and getting his take on the reason as to the side of the portions as how REAL ITALIAN food is prepared and served vs what we're used to seeing as Americans it helped me APPRECIATE my experience even more. I'm DEFINITELY RECOMMENDING Ristorante LA Perla for anyone who wants that ONE of a KIND experience. The restaurants decor and food tell the story of an OWNER that not only cares about his food but transforms his heritage and lineage to every plate he fixes. 25 years in the same location!!!! Gotta love it!!!!! ❤️

Ristorante La Perla of Washington is by far the absolute BEST Italian restaurant in the Washington Metropolitan area. We go there often, and the hostess is one of the loveliest persons; she is always very cheerful, pleasant, and welcoming. All of the servers are very accommodating and the one we had last night was exceptional! The food is superb, each offering prepared, exquisitely! I'm grateful to have this restaurant as one I can count on to always deliver great food, great atmosphere and great service.

Classy, old school Italian joint with authentic fresh made pastas. White tablecloth vibe, but super accommodating of kiddos. Chef even came out to the table to chat with us! Parking can be tricky—catch a ride share or taxi if you can.

They have a nice selection of hot and cold anti pasta. It all looked so good it was hard to make a choice. I chose the salmon and was not disappointed. The rigatoni with homemade sausage , shrimp and scallops was incredible! I had to use the fresh bread to get every bit of sauce from my plate. The staff were very attentive with out hovering around. They made good food and wine selections. The Chef came to the table and really cared about our experience. Very memorable meal!
