We discovered a charming French restaurant by searching and decided to have dinner there some time ago. The modern twists on French cuisine were delightful, and everything we ordered was fantastic! The place's ambiance was lovely, and our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They recommended food and drinks that complemented each other perfectly. The food was expertly cooked and melted in our mouths, from the starters to the decadent desserts that completed our very satisfying dinner.

Best D.C. Happy Hour! First time dining at LeDeSales for happy hour on Friday evening and loved it! The deets: Happy Hour: late happy hours are far and few to come by in DC and theirs goes until 8pm! Great collection of food and drink options. Ordered the spicy edamame, shishito peppers, sushi, wagyu sliders, and pretty sure every drink on the menu! Everything was a hit!! Atmosphere: large bar area with high tops near and open patio! Wonderful for summertime vibes! Not too loud! The rear of the restaurant is cute and would be a great date night spot. Service: Alberto was amazing! I sat at the bar and he was on it! Everything came out quick and correct! Will certainly be back!

While staying in DC for vacation we discovered this great restaurant next to the Mayflower hotel. A local favorite as it was always busy and we soon found out why. Excellent affordable menu with creative wine list featuring some French favorites! We went back a couple of times and really enjoyed the Pasture Raised Chicken (the sauce is to die for) Sliced 10 oz Ribeye (the mushroom sauce !!!) and the Kale Pistachio Salad. Great starter is the Fish and Chips Sushi! General Manager “Billy” Jigjid was inviting and the service was impeccable all three nites with deserts showing up to try often!!! This establishment is quite the gem in DC as the locals get there early for happy hour! It will not disappoint!

Following the realization that modern French fare is a fleeting commodity in downtown D.C., I remembered the subdued sanctuary that is Le DeSales. We rushed in exactly at 4:00 PM (which I am aware is so obnoxious to the staff). The Bartender didn’t blink. He immediately got us drinks. My lavender martini was exquisite! Food was superb. Each dish was well-timed and perfect in presentation, temperature, and quality. For the average diner, glancing at a menu that offers classic French fare as well as trendy-titled sushi rolls will naturally spark doubt. Trust me when I tell you the sushi is delectable. The French onion soup is perfect. It’s nothing short of magic! Do yourself a favor and locate this mid—block treasure. You will not be disappointed! Thank you to the staff and the bartender at Le DeSales! Can’t wait for my next visit!

Absolutely amazing ! It’s a french + asian fusion, I was really impressed. We went during happy hour at the bar ~5 pm and it was PACKED, however, around 6:30 when we left, it was much emptier so that is a better time to go. This place tops DC’s happy hour scene w great prices and great food
