We heard about this place and were not disappointed. We were in the area, and we went for dinner. We had an amazing fine-dining experience at this historic Italian restaurant, which caters to Georgetown residents and others. Moreover, the quality of food and service is exceptional.

I would say this is one of the best Italian restaurants in Washington D.C. Located in an excellent part of Washington , in Georgetown, this place offers an extremely good quality service and food. From appetizers to desserts, passing through pastas, pizzas, meats and fish… none of them will disappoint your taste buds. You can clearly identify that pasta is handmade and the cooking point “al dente” is definitely achieved. I was recommended to order a risotto with beet and duck stuffed legs which was extraordinary. Cocktails here are above average, the flavors mixed into a single glass are simply incredible with quantities correctly measured. Service here was excellent, with an attentive staff making sure you don’t miss anything during your meal from start to end. They had knowledge of the whole menu and were able to provide recommendations. Price obviously goes aligned with the location, quality of food an service provided and is above average but without reaching extremes. Price of each plate is worth the experience. I recommend Cafe Milano for a special occasion, or even for a casual date to taste the Italian scent of this place.

I'm extremely confused why there were people dining at this restaurant. The food was blah. I felt like I was eating at a cheap Italian restaurant. My mom ordered a shrimp pasta -- there was JUST ONE SHRIMP. When she complained, the server told her that it was a "big shrimp." First of all...what?! If the menu says "shrimp pasta" most people are not thinking there will be a single shrimp on the pasta. Second of all...after taking off the head and tail, it was a normal sized piece of shrimp. (See pics) I ordered the ragu. If you've had ragu before you'll know it's a tender shredded meat mixed with a light sauce that sticks lightly to each noodle. This "ragu" was simply minced hamburger meat. I felt like this restaurant was pulling a bate and switch. It gives all the air of high class with the white table clothes and the way the waiters breeze about the restaurant -- but when the food comes it's like you've been tricked into food made by chefs who specialize in British cuisine trying to make Italian noodles for the first time. For those of you concerned about personal data: When you enter the restaurant the host does not allow you to be seated until you give your personal cell phone number. They claim "if you forget anything then we can give you a call" -- but if most people forget something they will come back to the restaurant for it. When they took my mom's phone number a whole profile popped up and the host asked her about her personal eating habits. Personally I don't think a restaurant needs my personal data to give me a seat in their restaurant -- although I recognize that this is a personal decision.

Decided to check this place out about a year ago after seeing it on Veep and was not disappointed. I would say the Linguini B. Johnson was perhaps the best non dairy pasta dish I've had and the Tagliatelle Zegna was also very good. We also got a salmon appetizer that doesn't appear to be on the menu anymore, which we thought was pretty good but overpriced for the portion size. Judging by the description of the current menu the current appetizers could be a similar story. I felt like we got our money's worth on the entrees though.

Power brokers... Schmower brokers... That's the pricey nice Italian restaurant in Georgetown... Well then... The food better be great... It was excellent ! Something Italian for everyone. Everything made fresh from scratch. The waitstaff were supreme! Gary Pagano and two assistant waitstaff attended our needs with a superfluous flair and a comfortable demeanor. Yes... It was pricey... but it was well worth it. We had appetizers, entrees, and dessert with wine and delectable cocktails... I highly recommend this classy little Italian restaurant. We really had an EXCELLENT experience ! We smartly valet parked the car as we drove there ($20). We will definitely go back for another fun and fancy delicious night out. The only thing we would do different is NOT to request tap water (not tasty). One sip and we all avoided it. Not sure whether their water filter exists for water glasses. Bottled water is the only choice. Otherwise... Impeccable and excellent food, service, and overall experience ! Cena eccellente !
